79-’82 Attended Middlesex Polytechnic Humanities degree (English Drama, Art History, Philosophy). Lived variously in Tottenham, in a converted British Rail truck, and in Muswell Hill.

82-’86 Motorcycle messenger, building sites, painting and decorating, film runner, fight sequences for pop videos. Living in Hackney, Brixton, Clapham.

‘88–’95 World Wide Pictures, writing proposals and scripts for corporate films, for Arena and Equinox documentaries, developing drama series for C4, BBC, ITV.  Writing ‘Chapel Street’, ‘The Gifting Programme’ and ‘By Desire’ Married Abigail Pilbrow, three children – Esme, Diggory  and Lou. Living in Kentish Town, then in Muswell Hill.

’95-‘97 Freelance writing, and wrote ‘The Lie of The Land’. Living in Muswell Hill and on Dartmoor.

’97-00 Director of literary agency AP Watt, running the film department. Living in Muswell Hill.

2000- 2007 Moved to Dartmoor, Devon, writing “The Unnumbered” , “The Velvet Rooms” and “The Old Country” and various film projects; also part time director of literary agency Conville and Walsh.

2007- Lecturer in creative writing at the University of Exeter. Writing an untitled novel and pantomime
